Here’s what’s on our shelves right now.
101 collective nouns
A stunningly illustrated book that takes a look at some of the most interesting creatures in the world and what they are collectively called. It showcases how quirky and whimsical the English language can be. It’s well loved by me and my daughter alike.
Red Yellow Blue
This is a great book for cementing colour recognition. This has been a favourite of Havvie’s for a while as she’s very much into identifying all the colours she sees around her right now. I also used this book to build up her knowledge of colours by introducing a couple of new colours every few days.
The ABC book of seasons
We’ve used this book to talk about the seasonal changes we see in our environment around us. It’s a great way to introduce the abstract concept of seasons in a much more concrete way.
